
Amsterdam-based The Cartoon Movement has announced that one of its Palestinian cartoonist members, Mohammad Saba’aneh, was detained last Saturday by the Israel Defense Forces at a border crossing between Jordan and the West Bank.
Editorial cartoonist for the al-Hayat al-Jadida newspaper, official daily newspaper of the Palestinian National Authority, he also works in PR at the Arab American University (AAU) in Amman and has attended the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.
It’s claimed he was returning home from the University when he was held. No other information is, as yet, known.

Well.. i thought cartoonists are …. detained in India only…. ! Thats sad …. very sad…. an artist has all the rights to express his views on current political affairs !
Its ironic that the West condemns anyone else in the world who detains or arrests people for expressing political views, whether through cartoons or speeches or anything else, but when Israel does it there is NO coverage in western media.
